Day Air Credit Union Gives Back to the Community for the Holidays
Kettering, OH (December 20, 2019) – Day Air Credit Union has been hard at work spreading holiday spirit throughout the community this year. In 2019, Day Air branches, departments and associates partnered with numerous local organizations to help spread cheer and make a difference in the Miami Valley.
Day Air’s Kettering Branch and all of its departments partnered with the City of Kettering to bring gifts to children through The Giving Tree program. The Giving Tree program is designed to help families in the Kettering School District that may not be able to provide gifts for their children.
The Day Air Centerville Branch sponsored a child this year through the Centerville City Schools Adopt a Family program. They provided a brand new bike, training wheels and a helmet, helping make this child’s holiday season a little brighter
The Day Air Beavercreek Branch collected donations for Feed the Creek. This program provides food for students in the Beavercreek Public School system. This aids students that are on government-assisted meal plans by providing easy-to-prepare meals to eat on the weekends when they are not at school.
Day Air’s UD Branch participated in the University of Dayton’s 56th annual Christmas on Campus event. More than 1,000 children from Dayton Public Schools arrived on campus and joined Day Air staff and UD students, faculty and staff for a night of fun games, delicious holiday treats, and they even received special holiday gifts.
Day Air’s VA Branch co-sponsored the holiday party for the Community Living Center (CLC) at the Dayton VA Medical Center. The CLC is made up of two nursing homes on the VA campus: the hospice unit and the memory care unit. The VA Branch also donated holiday gift bags to Veterans receiving dialysis for Veteran’s Day and helped serve a Thanksgiving dinner to the veterans.
The Day Air York Commons Branch made a donation to the Butler Township Christmas with a Cop program. Officers from both Butler Township and the City of Vandalia assisted children in the community as they shopped for needed items for themselves and their immediate family. The children were also treated to a delicious breakfast that included a special visit from Santa.
Day Air also participated in a variety of other events this holiday season including; The Cookie Walk for We Care Arts, The Polen Farm Christmas Day Gathering and the Dayton Realtors Toys for Tots event.
