Day Air Credit Union Donates $20,000 to its Members
Kettering, Ohio, August 4, 2020 – Day Air Credit Union, the largest financial institution headquartered in Montgomery County, announced Tuesday that, in partnership with the Ohio Credit Union Foundation, it donated $20,000 to members impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Day Air provided 100 of its members with $200 gift cards to be used for groceries and other essential items. Day Air focused donations on members especially impacted by the virus, including those who had lost jobs or been furloughed as a result of the pandemic.
As an essential service provider, Day Air has been on the front lines interacting from a safe distance with members throughout the pandemic. That unique window allowed Day Air to see the devastating effects coronavirus was having on member’s lives and provided the will to assess and assist members most severely impacted.
“While we are continually focused on supporting our members financially, we felt an obligation to support other basic needs for some of our most impacted members during this challenging time,” Day Air President and CEO Bill Burke said in a statement. “We admire and are inspired by all in our community who are providing relief through efforts like ours.”
Members were selected due to need, and consideration was given to all members of Day Air Credit Union.
Day Air Credit Union partnered with the Ohio Credit Union Foundation each contributed $10,000 to make the $20,000 available to Day Air members.
