Day Air Credit Union was proud to partner with the Dayton Dragons to bring College Prep Night back to the Miami Valley in 2021. College Prep Night took place at Day Air Ballpark and the free event provided more than 2,000 local high school students the opportunity to meet representatives from over 60 colleges and universities.
“One of the things we’re most excited about with Day Air Ballpark is our ability to use it for important community events that provide tremendous value to families throughout the Miami Valley,” shared Joe Eckley, Director of Marketing at Day Air Credit Union. “We’re incredibly happy that we were able to bring this event back in 2021 after its absence in 2020 – and based on the record attendance we’re confident the community was equally excited.”
In addition to the opportunity to meet with college representatives and have their questions regarding college answered, high school students who attended were also entered for a chance to win one of two $1,000 scholarships provided by Day Air Credit Union. Recently Day Air shared the good news with the scholarship winners and is pleased to announce that Aaron Smith, a Centerville High School Senior, and Lonnie Fleming, a Stivers High School Senior, are the recipients of the 2021Day Air College Prep Night $1,000 Scholarships.
“Giving back in our community through efforts like College Prep Night and College Scholarship is core to Day Air,” said Bill Burke, President and CEO of Day Air Credit Union. “We’re proud to provide Aaron and Lonnie with these scholarships as they pursue higher education opportunities.”
