Day Air Credit Union, the largest financial institution headquartered in Montgomery County, was awarded more than $1.8 million in grant money by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund to further invest in the underserved communities of the Miami Valley.
Day Air’s work as a CDFI continues to focus on expanding access to credit union products and services that enhance members’ financial well-being. The Rapid Response Program (RRP) Grant is designed to help CDFI’s quickly respond to economic challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic in their communities.
Day Air will use grant funds to continue its affordable real estate lending and small business lending. Additionally, Day Air will continue expanding its financial education and outreach programs, which reach thousands of Miami Valley residents each year.
“We’re honored to be one of the only area CDFI’s to receive the Rapid Response Program Grant,” said Bill Burke, President and CEO of Day Air Credit Union. “At Day Air we’re driven by our mission to enhance members’ financial well-being, funds from this grant will help us make an even bigger impact in low-to-moderate income communities throughout the Miami Valley.”
