Centerville High School Credit Union (CHS CU) celebrated its re-opening on September 9, 2021. This student-run Day Air Credit Union branch at Centerville High School has been servicing students and faculty since 2007, marking an incredible 14-year partnership.
“The partnership with Day Air and Centerville High School for the CHS CU is outstanding. It provides students with the opportunity for financial literacy and opportunities for students to grow and learn about finance,” said Adam Priefer, Business Academy Teacher at Centerville High School. “Personal Finance is essential for students to grow and develop into young adults and this partnership provides the foundation for that.”
Centerville High School Credit Union is conveniently located inside the high school. The staff, who are all student volunteers, open accounts and conduct transactions for other students, faculty, and school employees. CHS CU provides numerous benefits to students including money management experience, financial education seminars, and real-life work experience for the students of the Business Academy that work for the credit union.
“Day Air is proud to have a long-standing partnership with Centerville High School since 2007 it has provided their students an opportunity to learn real life financial strategies that sets them up for future success,” said Amy Cline, Director of Member Services. “Day Air is committed to furthering the success of this program by continuously working toward new learning opportunities and initiatives.”
